Hammargruppen est. 1986 — 40 Years of Craftsmanship

This year, Hammargruppen celebrates 40 years of craftsmanship, expertise, and quality. What started in 1986 as a family-run shoemaking business in Helsingborg has, over four decades, grown into one of the Nordic region's leading players in exclusive shoes and shoe care.

The journey began when an 18-year-old Mikael Pettersson opened his shoe workshop and trained his brother Thomas. Mikael quickly realized that if the business was to grow, people needed to invest in higher quality shoes – shoes worth caring for and repairing instead of discarding. To realize that vision, he decided to start selling shoes himself.

This led to Hammargruppen developing close collaborations over 40 years with some of the world's most respected names in classic men's fashion. From British Crockett & Jones and Bowhill & Elliott to French Saphir Médaille d’Or – they all share our view on quality, tradition, and genuine craftsmanship.

It is precisely this 40-year journey and our fantastic partnerships that we now wish to highlight during our anniversary year. We began our celebration with a trip to the British factories where it all started. In the videos here, you get a small glimpse of our visits to Bowhill & Elliott in Norwich and Crockett & Jones in Northampton. It was also there, right in the factories of our oldest partners, that we together worked out the details of what is the highlight of the anniversary year: our 40th Anniversary Collection.

The collection will be launched in the autumn of 2026. Each model is produced in a limited edition and consists of models that mean extra much to Hammargruppen. They will be made with specially developed and exclusive materials created for our 40th anniversary.
