This year, Hammargruppen celebrates 40 years of craftsmanship, expertise, and passion for quality. What started in 1986 as a family-run shoemaking business in Helsingborg has, over four decades, grown into a name associated with the world's leading manufacturers of exclusive shoes, slippers, and shoe care products. Since day one, our philosophy has been to offer products of such high quality that they are worth caring for, repairing, and wearing for many years to come.
We began our celebration with a visit to our suppliers, Crockett & Jones and Bowhill & Elliott, in England. In the video alongside, you can see glimpses from our days at Bowhill & Elliott in Norwich, where we collaborated on the details of our unique 40th Anniversary collection.

How do you care for leather shoes?
Regular cleaning, moisturizing, and polishing help leather shoes maintain both their appearance and longevity. Use products tailored to the material and let the shoes rest between uses.
How long do a pair of quality shoes last?
The lifespan of a pair of quality shoes depends on how often they are used and how well they are maintained, but a well-made pair can often last 10–20 years or longer.
Shoes from manufacturers like Crockett & Jones and Ludwig Reiter are designed to be maintained and repaired over time. Thanks to constructions such as Goodyear welting, the sole can be replaced multiple times, significantly extending the shoe's lifespan.
To maximize their lifespan, it is recommended to:
- Use shoe trees after each wear.
